COGNITIVE & LANGUAGE TESTING PRACTICE FOR
PRIVATE SCHOOL ADMISSION TO KINDERGARTEN
This preparation guide provides hundreds of opportunities for preschoolers and parents to collaborate on the building blocks of cognitive and language development. The specially-designed exercises and accompanying “Parent Script” allow parents to supportively interact with their four-year-old in ways not afforded in a preschool group setting.
A parent, relative, friend, neighbor or "trusted stranger" can administer the hundreds of Cognitive and Language test items. The purpose of this challenging yet fun interactive study guide is not only to simulate 1-on-1 testing conditions at elite private schools, but also to build confidence in an untested and understandably apprehensive child. The "second time around" is always ten times better than the "first time around"!
Obviously, Gross Motor Skills are not covered in this book. Gross Motor Skills may include but are not limited to: jumping (1 - 2 - 3 - 4 - 5+) times, skipping, throwing / catching / kicking a medium-sized ball, standing on one foot for (1 - 2 - 3 - 4 - 5+) seconds, hopping on one foot (1 - 2 - 3 - 4 - 5+) times, riding a tricycle, walking in a straight line or on a balance beam, and climbing stairs with alternating feet.

This test prep book contains a mixture of standard test questions (e.g., listening comprehension) and harder exercises (e.g., picture analogies) similar to those that appear on the AABL (Admission Assessment for Beginning Learners), OLSAT, the WPPSI-III (ERB), the BSRA and the CogAT.
